12.00 Picnic Quilt

This was my FIRST quilting project that I did the quilting myself. So don't look to close. This was before I knew I needed to use the walking foot to straight quilt, thus the bunching and puckering. And before I knew how to really bind a quilt, so I improvised a little. But all in all it turned out great, and we've gotten ALOT of use out of this nice little picnic quilt. All the fabric was from the clearance section at Walmart (gasp) for 1.00 a yard! Can't beat that. Besides the jeans in it of course, those were Jay's. I posted this because I wanted to show that you don't have to spend lots to make a fun quilt for your family. This one cost me $12.00! Counting the thread and the batting. Since it was so cheap I don't have to worry about dirt and mud and peanut butter smeared into it. That's what its for after all.
