I discovered our library yesterday. I found some great sewing books, and even managed to get some books and movies for my son. :) I even went back yesterday and picked up the new Amy Butler book and checked out a few more quilt books. Have you checked out your library? You might just be pleasantly surprised to see what they have. I sure was. :) Hope you all have a great weekend! -Allison
ps. I had some questions about how I got my quilting lines so straight on the Little Cars Coin quilt. I have a nifty bar ( I'm blanking on the real name of it?) that attaches to my Bernina Walking Foot so you can follow the lines. There is a picture of my using it on this post.

Oh, I wish my library were as cool as yours...the newest book I've found there is a Kaffe book from 2003.
And that little bar on the walking foot - I have one of those, and I didn't really get what it was supposed to be used for, but now I know. And knowing is half the battle...could be dangerous! So basically, you just need to get your first line straight, and then rock n roll from there...*grins*
I love getting quilting and sewing books at the library! I thought I was kinda a nerd for doing it-but hey if you're doing it....no big deal right?! I'm still jealous of your amazing talents and great sewing machine :)
Our library is really good too! While the local one does not have a huge selection of quilt books you can always place a hold on one and it can come from a variety of places. There are probably a 100 libraries in our "system" so you can usually get anything you want, which I LOVE!!
We have a branch of the library close by. We do get books on cd and a dvd once in a while. More often than not, I am dropping of books or cds as donations.
I have yet to check out the Seams to Me book - anxious to see what you think of it.
That is so funny you posted on the library thing. I have been wanting to go see what my library has as far as quilting/sewing books. I just haven't made it yet. Maybe the baby girl and I will go when she wakes up from her nap. Thanks for the push!
so that is what the bar is for! yea! tfs
