Playing catch up

I'm finally starting to get some sewing done after a LONG few days! We came back to Cleveland after a month in Seattle, and I was (am) sick sick sick with a bad cold! So tonight instead of laying in bed I decided to try out my new Christmas present, a new Bernina walking foot. After quilting this baby quilt in under 30 minutes with not a pucker in sight, I'm officially in love with it. I love free motion quilting, but its really nice to be able to straight stitch quilt with no puckering! So now I have one quilted and three more to go, plus this stack of fabric waiting for me to cut it up into my next quilt...a twin sized quilt for my baby's big boy bed. (sob sob)

I just did a quilt for my baby's first big boy bed too. He is refusing to sleep in it, so we have a crib AND a twin bed in his room now.

I have a project lined up for my 6-year-old that I started when she was an infant. I just finished my first baby quilt, and I am so thrilled. You projects look fantastic. I love the color combination for both quilts. I can't wait to see the progress on your Big Boy Bed Quilt.

Don't you love the walking foot? I use it all. the. time. I even used it on the totes that I've been making. It keeps all those layers of fabric so nice.

Love the little quilt, and am looking forward to seeing progress on the big boy quilt.

A. I'm so jealous! Everything you make seems to turn out perfect. I'm saving saving saving for a Bernina of my own. *someday!*
B. Do you know that you can get WONDERFUL fabrics on etsy from a person called fabricsupplies by charlie? I'm sure you know this, but if you don't....just type in fabricsupplies in the sellers name dropdown box and it will take you to the most amazing selection of fabrics for $7.50!! Even new stuff!! Anyways, just a thought-check it out :)

I know this blog posting is over two years old, but do you HAPPEN to know what the brown/pink/green floral fabric is that's draped over the top (right side) of the top picture in this 1-9-09 posting? It looks similar to Amy Butler's Daisy Chain pictured in the next day's post, but it seems to have a larger scaled pattern. I'm working on bedding for my baby girl (on the way), and as the mommy of two boys this is quite an exciting opportunity! I want to get it right! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Amy J.
