I finished up the quilting on this last night. I wanted the quilting to look like this, and I really like the diamond pattern with the log cabin blocks. Straight quilting takes me longer than stippling, just because I have to start and stop more often, but I really like the look of it. And it makes the quilt softer and more pliable. More quilting= stiffer quilt. The back is flannel, because its 6 degrees outside and the flannel back quilts get the most use in my house.
It already looks cozy in my quilt basket. I think I'm going to need a bigger basket though, because 3 lap quilts is just not enough. When I finished this quilt last night my husband asked,"What are you going to do with this one?"
I'm running out of reasons to make quilts, there are three on my bed, two on my walls, three now for lap quilts, and don't even ask how many are in my son's room. I couldn't think of a good reply to my husband's question so I just told him, "I am going to look at it.........alot."
Have a great Thursday everyone!
