My Mom is a quilt lady. I caught the quilting disease from her. She has packs and piles of quilts around her house, some she’s made, and some are family quilts and antiques she’s collected here and there. So I thought I’d post a few because they are too pretty not too share. Plus lets face it, I’ve got nothing else to post about.

She made this circle quilt a few years ago. Each circle is pieced with raw edges so with use it gets a cute shabby appearance. Except its been hanging on the wall for 3 years….so when it gets used, it will get cute and shabby.
This red and white one I LOVE. Its all hand quilted heavily. It’s an antique, and obviously made by someone with more patience than anyone under this roof. There is a similar quilt but yellow instead of red in the final (boo-hoo) issue of Country Home that I've been staring at. There is definitely something like this in my quilting future. Except not hand quilted.

I love a vintage wedding ring quilt. Especially this one made with vintage feed sack fabrics and hand quilted. I’m hoping she won’t notice if this disappears accidentally into my suitcase. Not likely.
And last but not least this flower quilt made by Mom. The pattern is from Buggy Barn Quilts I believe. Our friend quilted this on a long arm and I love how she left the petals of the flowers un-quilted. It gives them a raised, almost appliqué appearance. This one is on my (guest) bed so I get to look at it every night.

What amazing quilts and excellent sources of inspiration! Is there a name for the pattern used in the red and white quilt? What a great legacy to pass on!
Thank you for the lovely quilt show compliments of your mother! They are all beautiful.
oh i ♥ all of them.
especially the wedding ring one.
{and the red one.}
thanks for sharing.
wow what beauties.
I too have made the 1st one you showed but never considered hanging it up.
Thank you for sharing.
What beautiful quilts! I like your mom's best, especially the flower one. I have three girls who would LOVE it.
We have a red and green one like your red and white one. It was made by my husband's grandmother and has seen constant use. Probably because some of the red blocks faded to orange (that must have been a bummer). My son sleeps under it every night.
We have some of her "good" quilts boxed up. You make me want to pull them out for a photo op!
beautiful quilts, and I love the broach
oooh the double wedding ring quilt...i think that would be an awesome one to try but i hear it's hard! wow your mom's amazing!
Those quilts are all wonderful! Thanks for sharing! I love the flowers on the last one, they really do stand out, and the wedding ring is gorgeous!
Those are awesome quilts! Make sure to tell your mama she's amazing! :)
Thank you for the nice comment. It is fun to see other people's ideas! And you are right, the red and white quilt is a Drunkard's Path. I googled it and found this website:

It really is a pretty quilt in any color combination!

SUCH wonderful quilts, I love the flower one your mom made, so Cute!
How nice that you and your mom share quilting as a hobby! Love her quilts!
My mum is also a quilt lady, and while I took my time, it has rubbed off on to me. (I also have a much better understanding of her fabric hoarding now!) Mum also apraises antique quilts, so she gets to see some amazing pieces. The hand sewing blows me away, but as a great Aunt tells me, there was nothing else to do except listen to the radio at night and quilt!
Thanks for sharing such beautiful treasures with us. :)
Beautiful quilts! Love all the inspiration :) Those circles catch my eye. . .
Thank you so much for sharing those quilts! And a wonderful tribute to your mother! These patterns are some of my favorite.
