Happy Anniversary to #1

Happy Anniversary to my very 1st quilt.  Thank you for being filled with Katie Jump goodness, and for still being my very favorite quilt.  And for never talking back or leaving your dirty laundry on the floor 1 foot from the hamper.

I can’t believe its only been a year.   I’ve come a long way since then, and 39 quilts (YIKES!) later I finally feel like a real quilter.  Except I still don’t like Batiks.  Not gonna happen folks.   Here’s to another year, and maybe not 39 quilts more.  We’ll see.

Wow, only a year?! I would call you a quilter...never would have guessed. I love this first quilt of yours, it is so much! Batiks, not so much! I like these fabulous new retro prints...

Wow I am really impressed with what you have accomplished in one year! Congrats. I'm with you on the batiks, in fact I love stopping by your blog because you use fabric in your quilts/projects that I love as well.

Wow, You are an inspiration! I also love your first quilt. And I thought I was the only one that wasn't in love with batiks. Glad to know I'm in good company.

I love your first quilt, what pattern did you use. It will be interesting to see where I am at a year from now I can't fathom I'll get 39 done, but something to strive for.

Wow, that's gorgeous. That's so impressive for a first quilt.

I'm so shocked to see all the people who don't like batiks. I love them!

I just found your blog, and I'm learning that you're moving to Seattle?? That's my neck of the woods. Two of my favorite quilt shops have closed in the past few years, but there's a darling one in Ballard that you'll have to discover. And I'm with you on batiks. Not my fav either. We really do have great quilt shops in the Seattle area, and if you're willing to drive just a wee bit, you'll discover a ton more. We do like our quilting up here. Great blog. Hope your move goes well.

No way!! You've only been quilting for one year! I'm totally blown away by that. I'm kinda hopeful too. I am working on my first quilt partly because I was so inspired by all of yours.

Happy Anniversary Snowball! 39 quilts - your machine must be smokin' hot! I love your quilting style - modern, fresh, buoyant. However, I can also appreciate a good batik... but not in a quilt. :)

So there is hope for me....I'm just starting to collect the materials for my first quilt.
Everything is so expensive, so it's a slow process.
I can't believe that you've only been doing this for a year and THAT was your first quilt.
What a cute pattern.
Congrats on your anniversary ;)

I don't like batiks either! I am glad someone else is out there. They don't appeal to me. Love your snowball quilt and I can't believe you have made 39 quilts in a year. Congrats!

beewitchinstitchin said...

Wow, you are prolific. I can't imagine making 39 quilts in one year or ten years for that matter. And an Etsy shop as well (even though you have decided to close it for now). I'm still trying to get mine open. I love the retro fabrics but I love the batiks as well. Guess I'm in the minority on that one. Thanks for sharing...Kathy

That quilt is simply beautiful! You're an inspiration. Since January I've completed one quilt and am working on two hand-sewn ones and a wall hanging (yes, I'm a beginner), and loving it. Thanks for your blog - I love it!
