You know those cute eye spy bags like this or that? Well this is not like that, this is the 5 minute ghetto version.
I bought a pencil pouch at Target, sewed around the sides, bottom and top leaving a 2” hole at the top, added my trinkets (dollar store), added my rice, sewed the hole shut, and cut around it with pinking shears. If your not making the last minute version like myself, use those little clear floral beads you can buy at craft stores by the floral supplies.
Today the little man and I fly to Denver while hubby drives.
Wish me luck…..I’m gonna need it….and pray I don’t have a cranky old man sitting next to me.

Love it! Great idea. I'm gonna try that for my little ones for our 10 hour road trip coming up in a couple weeks.

What a great idea. I just got back from Denver last night. Lovely weather--nice lightening shows at night but warm and breezy during the day.

Oh my goodness! I love it and I wish you would have made it a little bit sooner! I just bought one of those premade ones for 15 bucks. Yours looks great, and you can personalize it with stuff your little one likes. Great job!

LOL I love the ghetto version. I've made some ghetto versions myself for my own kids when I just can't spare any shop stock for them. I know, my poor kids can't even enjoy what their own mama makes! I just wanted to thank you for linking back to one of my bags because I've actually gotten a lot of traffic from it. I am so so glad I found this post! I love the idea of "sensory bins," but I wanted to find a way to do it without mess up/clean up and overall hassle. This may be the way! I would love to pay you to make me some of those sewn pencil pouches! You may think they're ghetto, but I think they're great! =D
