Remember the new quilt top I mentioned the other day? Yeah well, I quilted it, I HATED it, and I’m unpicking it. The whole dang thing. I estimate it should take awhile, but at least I’ll have something to keep my hands busy for the next couple days. I'll tell you more about this quilt and hopefully get a tutorial started once I finish it...promise!
In between unpicking I managed to finish Darci’s quilting bee block.
Now I have to go prepare to stuff my face tomorrow. Have a great Thanksgiving everybody and see you at Target at 5am on Friday! Cause you know I’ll be there buying nothing I need and taking it back later. Tis’ the season!

Uhg... Unpicking. Don't you hate how fast you can stitch it but ho LONG it takes to unpick it! Have fun!

Oh my grief... unpicking is the worst! :( I feel terrible for you but I'd have done the same if I hated the quilting I did.

Unpicking is the worst but if you hate how it turned out it's totally worth it. Have you ever tried using a rotary cutter to unpick the stitches? It takes some practice, but once you get it, it's MUCH faster!

Wow- you're one determined woman! I may (just maybe) would have a huge project such as that unpicking and our wood stove meet. You can always make another top right? ;)

if that happened to me the quilt would probably not see the light of day again or for a very, very long time. it is very admirable of you to unpick the whole thing.
Oh, you poor thing...was it really that bad? Not a job I'd want to be doing. However, I am looking forward to seeing it all done.
That Christmas Tree is really cute!
That tree is wonderful! I can't see much on the pic you showed so I may have seen wrong, and then of course everyones taste is different, but I think that maybe the problem is that you quilted inside the circles? Since the top is quite busy in it's appearance maybe you should try something simple, maybe an X through every circle-block, or do something completely funky to match the already crazy busyness.
That was my thoughts, I hope I didn't offend you. I'm not a quilter, YET!, so I bet I'll be damning my ideas and abilities when I finally get off my arse and start doing it myself. I'm looking forward to see your quilt finished. :-)

I definitely feel for you, I would do the same. I'm notorious for it. My machine quilting skills are at the beginner stage, so the wall hanging I am quilting right now will keep the mistakes. I'm saving it to show my progress when i take it out to hang next Thanksgiving.
Ew. To the unpicking, that is. Enter the mantra of my BFF's mother, who is an expert quilter - one day when I was complaining about having to rip out stitches, she interrupted me and said, "No no no! No ripping! You're... setting the stitches free." So remember that. :)
You poor thing! Sounds like you need someone to quilt it for you this next time. How quickly do you need it back? If you send me the stuff, i'll quilt it for you. Might look really cool with some contrasting "retro lines" on all of those circles...
I feel for you. I have seen that quilt in different places a tutorial would be nice.
Nooooo! You're much too talented a quilter to waste your time taking out the quilting. Use your time on making something else. I would leave it the way it is and make it into a dog bed cover. Life is too short!
P.S. Ripping with a rotary cutter does go really fast with a little practice. Take it from one who's had a lot of experience. :o)

I have one to un-do too. Just waiting for a quiet few days and to put some other WIPs to bed!. I love Darcy's blocks. Is it all Christmas trees? What a lovely idea - very clever!
I've picked out lots and lots of stitches that I wasn't happy with. It's a pain, but in the end it's worth it! Happy Thanksgiving!

I pieced by hand 1048 pieces of a pyramide charm quilt .
Everyone told me I needed to quilt it by hand and I hate hand quilting. Wish now I had not started it. Will never do it again tha tis for sure it is too hot here in Florida.
