Super Ben got a new Super Cape for Christmas. (Its been on my to do list for about 7 months…how’s that for procrastination!) Needless to say Super Ben loves it and has been spotted wearing his cape all around town. Luckily by now I’ve learned with a toddler that some things are NOT worth a battle, and wearing a cape in public is one of them. And I must admit I think its kind of cute….because in a few short years he won’t be caught dead wearing a cape to Costco.

love it!
i love it when the little guys want to wear the costumes out of the house. my son like to were a nasa space suit everywhere. great job
Oh how cute! My little grandson might get one of those. And you are right it isn't worth the fight.
How sweeet! I just love how boys think they are superheroes! I made my oldest son a dracula cape with a bat on the back for Halloween and he wore it for two years straight! Kinda wish I would have made a more universal cape like this one ... but he didn't care. And he looked adorable!
Cute! My son needs one of these.
For one of my boys it was a Power Rangers costume. He wore it every day. And I do mean every single day. It lasted almost a year. Until it had so many holes and runs in the polyester that I could no longer repair it and he grew a little taller.
I used to tell people I never leave home without a super hero escort because one of my boys was always dressed up.
My youngest is now three and he has not discovered the fun of dressing up.
Oh how I miss those days!
Too cute! :o)

So cute! This is a wonderful picture! What a terrific gift.
That is SUPER cute! What a great gift to your son.
I love the free spirit children have. The cape looks great! My daughter had a Snow White dress I made her and she would only take it off for washing. I'll talk to her about it and it just makes her blush. She's eleven now. All grown up.
Too cute.
Love it! And totally agree about picking your battles, most things just aren't worth it. When he's 15, he'll be so embarrassed to know he wore it out of the house. ;)
As the mother of a 24 month old, I find there are many things not worth the battle! I let her wear Dora pajamas to the store yesterday.
Very cute! I like that he wears it everywhere. My three year old likes to take her dolls everywhere just like her two older sisters did. I think it's sweet!! :)
You know everyone at Costco loved it! It looks fabulous!
He looks so sweet! I let my girls wear their favorites forever. Sometimes we went to pick up groceries with my youngest dressed in red cowboy boots and a tutu. They are little for such a short time and I wanted to enjoy them every minute!
What a stately cape! It's so handsome! Don't feel bad about the procrastination issue--i've been working on knitting matching capes for my daughter and her best friend since they were 4...now they are 7. I hope as preteens they still like capes. :O)
Have fun documenting the adventures of SuperB!
Halloween Happy Meal buckets as rain hats, tap shoes to the grocery.... These are memories to be treasured and pondered.
Blessings,

just darling Allison!!
My three year old does this too. One day we went to the park in his cape and a Batman mask I made him, and all the other two and three year old boys were in awe. They were all checking it out.

so cute! I love watching my kids "fly" around the house saying making super hero noises! :)
what a great cape. And I just love it when my kids want to dress up to go somewhere. I think it's cute.
Did you make this pattern up or did you use an actual pattern? i would love to make this for my 2 darlings.
thanks julie

I recently took my grandsons (5 and 2) out for a burger. They both showed up at the door in their super capes. We ate out on the patio at the restaurant and children pointed to the boys and told their parents "look at those boys' cool superman capes!" My grandsons thought that was so great. Enjoy these years!
I love it when I see kids out and about wearing costumes hehe
So cute! I love gifts that inspire imagination like that. :)
yeah, treasure these days. Such a cute cape! My son looks back fondly on those days.
Just fab. I love seeing little boys out on the town sporting their hero capes. How else would you get through a Costco shopping trip, mom?
How darling! Never try to make your super heroes give up their capes.
Trust me, when he's 11, he won't be wearing a cape. My oldest turned 11 yesterday, and I remember when all he would wear were Buzz Lightyear pajamas (luckily we had two sets).
There's something about boys and capes. I remember using a bath towel pinned around their necks. A few years ago, and many years after the fact, I found a pin in a towel! -sniff, sniff-
Oh yeah, let him wear that cape everywhere. :)
I wish I was young enough to get away with wearing a cape about town. Sigh. What an awesome gift!!
Very cute! My pre-schooler comes up with some very interesting combinations to wear to school.
I'm sure you know to enjoy it while it lasts. Time will fly and you'll be able to share these "cape to Costco" stories with his fiance
So cute! Did you know our brothers are roommates here? I just found out today that Ryan is in with all the Renchers.
Precious!
It´s so cute.
I like it very much.
Have a nice evening,

I remember the cape days when my so n was just a little guy. So sweet!
Loving it, looking forward to my little girl playing dress up in a few months!
Great shot!
How did you do the clasp on the front? I've been wanting to make one for my girl - she currently uses her blankie for this, but I don't like that to leave the house for fear of losing it - but I can't decide how to do the front.
I totally relate!
When we went to get our annual Santa picture of our four boys, they were dressed in their finest clothes. My 4 year old who was looking sharp in his blue sweater vest, dress shirt. tie & kahkis (very preppy) and was so happy dressed up. After the picture as we were walking away Santa called me back and said, "I love James goggles" Thats right...he had his goggles on and I didn't even notice. Sure I can play the "I am the distressed mother of 4 boys all under 5 card"...but the reality is that I don't even know what he looks like without them. So I guess it is fitting to catch this stage on film. So in 25 years, when he is looking at his own son and wondering why he has a thing for goggles, capes or what not, I can pull out this Santa picture to remind him, boys will be boys.
