Chain Reaction Quilt & Pattern

IMG_3350-3 copy

The tutorial for this one is in my etsy shop now.  I started this quilt and wrote out the pattern a long time ago (pre-baby when I had time!) and finally got the the quilt all quilted & washed yesterday.  Its a perfect size for a crib/ toddler quilt…this one is going to be a couch quilt for my boys.   I’ve been saving up these scraps of fabrics to make an eye spy quilt, so its nice to finally get them out of my stash and into a quilt!  The solids in this quilt are Kona Solids in White & Aqua.

This quilt tutorial is meant for beginning to intermediate sewers.  There are some small strips in it, so some knowledge of piecing & squaring will be helpful.  I backed this one with yellow striped flannel from Joann’s, I love the weight flannel gives to a washed quilt….they are extra cozy!

This is really the cutest 'I Spy' I have ever seen! Isn't it fun to say 'my boys'? Seriously, what kind of vitamins do you take???

Lovely! I need to start using flannel for backing sometimes, just for the extra cozy.

Super cute! I'm working on my first quilt now and the machine quilting it throwing me for a loop! I think this might have to be my second go at it though. Thanks for sharing all your great ideas and patterns!

This is such a cute quilt! I love it because it's so different from anything I've seen recently - which isn't easy to do in quilting. Very, very nice!

And congratulations on having a very good baby. I love those kind. :)

That is an excellent quilt pattern and fun to have the i spy component without it being extraordinarily busy like the traditional i spies!

How old is your baby? I can't believe you are doing this kind of stuff already!

so sweet and I love the contrast in the different fabrics with the soft blue for a newborn! Your lines are so straight and really cute pattern!

Beautiful quilt, I really like how the aqua brings out the different patterns.

Very fun quilt. I wonder if it would work to sew blocks together in vertical rows rather than horizontal. Seems like you could eliminate that very small stripe above and below each row that way.

I think I might give it a try for my next baby blanket.

So cute! This would be a great quilt for Brice. You are so good about creating for your boys. I need to get better about that. My husband has been bugging me for a quilt since we first started dating. :)
