Tomorrow we fly to Seattle for my brother’s wedding. Which means I should be doing this:
Or these:
Or at least some of this:
But instead, I’m cutting out a quilt. Because I can’t go visit home without a quilt (or four) to work on. I might just be the queen of procrastinating the “have-to-do’s” and doing the “want-to-do’s” instead.
Which means I should probably get off this computer and get some sewing packing done while the boys are asleep!

HeHe. Hope you have a great trip, and you get some sewing, I mean packing done. :)
Tell me about it! I always procrastinate on my have-to list in favor of my want-to list. :-)
Have a great trip!
Ha! I can relate, the first thing I pack for a trip is my bag of quilting/tatting. It HAUNTS me if I don't, so I figure I am being more productive getting it ready and off my mind before I tackle the optional items my family deems necessary for a trip - clean clothes, underwear, toiletries. They are pretty demanding!
Have a great trip!
:) Ann
Very cute "fuzzy head" you have there!
sitting here thinking it was a bad idea to sit down, 'cause now I'm pooped! LOL
have a great trip, peaceful flight and love Hot Wheels!
Hope you have a fun, safe trip! And here's to better weather than what's going on here at the moment! :)
I'm terrible about procrastinating as well. I should be studying but I'm quilting instead. Whoops!
Definitely work on getting the quilts ready before packing...you can always pack!
I hate packing! I always wait unti lthe very last minute (less time for stuff to get wrinkled..yeah, that's the reason).
Looks like your laundry helper was sleeping on the job! Have a fun time at your brother's wedding! Can't wait to see what type of quilt you're cooking up with those yummy fabrics! Jenn
I have a (hopefully) quick non-related question for you...how do you do your strike-thru's on your words? As in, sewing/packing? I have windows xp, if that is a factor...
Oh, and also, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog! Congrats on being listed in this month's Quilter's Home; 55 Rad Blogs!!! How awesome! And exciting!!
I am glad you are as obsessed as I am. I am already planning the sewing I will take on my summer holiday to Spain this August. No machine so I'm thinking hexes - miles of jelly roll in patterns, solids and perhaps white or grey. Then I can sew to my heart's content - except perhaps on the plane where they probably won't want me getting out a needle!
Gosh, what a fuzzy head! Cute!
Have a great trip, even if you have to wear the same clothes for the entire time (hey, you could wrap yourself in the quilt you make...who needs a suitcase?).
Those dishes look remarkably clean if they are supposed to be dirty....Hurray for procrastination, I love it :)

I like your thinking! I can relate a little too much to this :) Have fun on your trip. Loving those fabrics!
I'm the same way. In fact I think I pack and do things better in a rush. Mind you I am also the type to would have written 10 lists and then revised those lists leading up to the packing!! Have a safe trip and a wonderful time with family!
I never knew that I needed handwork on a trip until a few years ago. I was cross stitching a wedding sampler and had a deadline, so it was packed. That was The Best vacation because I had some "me" time and something I wanted to do when everyone else was busy with whatever. I had time to just relax and do what I wanted. Now I never leave town without a project. It's kind of like insurance or something.
Whew! Glad I am not the only one who does the "want-to-dos" when I should be doing the "have-to-dos!" Have a great trip - can't wait to see how this quilt turns out!
! I always procrastinate on my have-to list in favor of my want-to list.
