Now those little orange shoes actually (almost) fit!
Its amazing (and sad) how fast babies grow. If only I could make time go slower. sigh.
Sounds like my complaining yesterday struck a nerve with so many of you! I think its more sad that anything since I just don’t see how the local shops are going to stay in business. Oh and I am REALLY glad I’m not buying fabric in Canada or Australia….$16.00 a yard??? Sheesh that’s expensive!!! That’s the end of my complaining!

He's gorgeous!
What a cutie!
$16.00/yard is unbelievable! I just don't know how people afford it.
Such a handsome little guy!
Awwwwww ..... pretty soon he won't fit on that little quilt!
he's a total cutie! what a great photo!
Lovely little guy! Enjoy!
um yeah ... still cheaper here in Oz to buy on line even with the delivery from the USA !!!!! We'd pay more than twice that! Not joking!
you think $16 is bad we pay around the $25 to $28 a metre where I live in Australia. I buy from USA mostly.
Sweetie sweetness! I have a bunch of pics of my daughter at the same age on a quilt about that size - yours is prettier though! Great backdrop till they start getting a mind to crawl off!
quilt is cute, and the baby is cuter ;)
when did fabric become so expensive? i worked in a quilt store and i thought $8.50 was a lot.
Oh he is so big and adorable! My little guy will be one in two months...only two months!! It's scary how the time flies!
He is so cute!! It is sad how fast they grow. Loving the shoes...and the blanket!
What a cutie! I don't blame you for being sad at how fast it goes. I can just imagine the soft fuzzy head and sweet baby breath this little guy has - I would want to freeze him in time!
He is gorgeous and I hear you on the growing up too fast thing - it is so sad!! Enjoy every moment!
And re the price of fabric - I'm in Australia and have been buying all my fabric from the US, it is about half the price. The Aussie $ is very strong at the moment which is what makes it so cheap - it isn't always that way! I feel bad about not supporting my LQS, but sorry guys - it's way too expensive!!
Love those chubby cheeks! I just added your new button to my "friends" page. All I had before was your bloggy link button. Hope all is well.
what a lovely baby...those are such cute shoes...i am going to have to remember to savor every moment of my last one.
$16 in Australia would be cheap. Most shops charge between $20-24 per metre for the latest ranges. No wonder most of us buy from USA. Your little guy is so gorgeous.
What a gorgeous little man looking so happy in his orange shoes! Yes, one needs to have a nice income to be a passionate quilter in Australia - many fabrics up to almost $30/metre here - we should all be using our scraps, but that is so easy to say and so difficult to do with all the gorgeous new releases about!
Hugs - Lurline♥
he is so stinkin' cute!!
I'm totally with you about buying online for fabric. I have 2 crappy quilt shops in the little town i live in. One is actually ok, because they carry lots of Moda..BUT I've never seen any fabrics at either store under $10/yard. When I can get the same stuff online for $6-$8...that's where I'll spend my money!
Love the orange shoes on your little hunny!
And yes, since it's so disgustingly expensive to by fabric shopping here in Canada, my girlfriend and I are heading south of the border tomorrow. Why would I spend all my $$ on a FQ when I know I can get it for less than half down there?!? Crazy...
OMG, He is so gorgeous! He has grown so fast! He must very hapy and healthy : )
So sweet! And yes, it IS sad how fast they grow...!!
so cute!
I've only bought fabric from a quilt shop in town once and I never will again, I only bought 1 yard and it cost be $20 after tax! insane! online shopping is the way I will always go
He is precious.
(I think your vent was justified...and it is sad...my quilt shop thankfully is quite competitive, and they give a 10% bag, which pays for the tax... so I buy what I can there)
Gorgeous shoes.
Gorgeous quilt.
Gorgeous kid!!
Aw...
I'm relatively new to your blog and only just starting to get to know about the world of quilting and have loved looking through your older posts and seeing all your designs and tutorials! I had no idea about the price of quilting fabric, but know now to make sure I don't get overcharged!
I also had to comment on your gorgeous little boy - how lucky he is to have such a lovely quilt to play on!
Oh so cute (and the quilt too)!
That is one stylin' baby!
Adorable! Isn't it the best feeling when your little ones are laying on or covering up with a quilt you've made? My almost 3 year old HAS to have all 3 quilts that I've made for her in her bed everynight...so sweet. :)

What a cutie! My 2nd, and last, "baby" just turned 1, it's sad, but man how time flies..
Hello Cuteness!! : )
I lovin' his Ta-da pose. heehee
The little guy is a cutie! As for the fabric prices in independent quilt shops---my local shop is trying very hard not to raise their prices, and the owners are trying new ways to keep their prices down by stimulating business in other quilty business ways. It's a lot of work on their part, but they are doing it. I still give them my business on a regular basis to help keep them alive and well, but I also order online fabric to help me stay near my budget---notice "near" my budget. Oh, the addiction!

I love this photo!
I know, I couldn't understand what was going on when I tried to buy some Saffron Craig from Australia and it was like $30 a yard. I thought i'd lost something in the translation of money and it was really going to be $10/yard like in the US, but yeah, no.
I love the colors and fabrics in this quilt.
I am living in Denmark and was floored to discover how expensive fabric is here. Low quality fabric is $16/meter and "designer" fabrics like Amy Butler are $30/meter. I don't think there are many quilters here with prices like that!
