I made myself a ruffely camera strap….my husband hates it. I told him I’d make him a manly cover if he actually used the camera…but he quickly informed me that NO covers are manly….manly men don’t use strap covers. Good to know. :) Anyways, I love this cover.
My first cover drove me nuts because it slid from side to side and I was constantly centering it. This one has tapered ends and a small slit in the side that you slide the strap into. There are oodles of tutorials for camera strap covers…but if I make another one I’ll snap some pictures for ya.
Maybe if my hubby did use the camera I wouldn’t have to take so many bathroom mirror pictures of myself. :) The blue fabric is by Anna Marie Horner & the dot is from Amy Butler’s Lotus line.
ps. the Modern Chain Quilt is being featured over at a Quilt Story today…check it out here!

I am also trying to get my fiance to use the camera more. When I bought a strap, I got this one with robots (http://www.etsy.com/transaction/24272773) since it was one of the few he said wasn't too feminine.
How stinking cute is this?!!!! Very....I love it. I made one of the other ones from your tutorial, but I believe I must make one like this too!
I don't like that mine slides back and forth either. I would love to see how you made this or maybe even just a picture showing the slit where you slide in the strap, I think I could take it from there. Thanks!!!
I want to make one! I am going to have to give this a try. Thanks for the Quiltstory shout out!
I still need to make myself one.Love the ruffle and both the fabrics:)
I LOVE the ruffled camera strap! I want one.
That ruffled strap is awesome. And Amy's Lotus line is one of the best fabric lines ever!!!!
Hey, I say enjoy your ruffles. As the only female in my house, I gotta take the ruffles where I can find them.
BTW, I finished quilting my raw edge circle quilt, made based on your great tutorial- have a look on my blog (it will look quite familiar!)
The ruffle is adorable! I bet you could get him to use a strap cover if you found the right fabric. Like one of Alexander Henry's Camouflage Girls or Pinup fabrics.
super cute! i still use my plain old black one. i really need to make one!

Well I think it is cute... I'll try to make one myself!
I bet a camera strap cover made of beef jerky would be manly. bahaha! ;)
Very cute! I want to make a strap cover too, with a pocket for my lens cap. I'm gonna lose that thing one of these days!
Very smart looking. I like it very much.
Your husband is Like mine he would not use one either.
love the ruffle! i soooo need a cute strap!
my husband is like yours - straps are forbidden - but because he is the ONLY one who uses the camera (i have a smaller one just for taking photos at my works and it doesn't have a strap) i don't have any excuses for making one, but your is soooo lovely!!!
i'm having a giveaway this week, just a little something something, but you are very welcomed there!!!
I made a strap cover for my brother who is a photographer for a living. He loves it! I made it from dark green and black batik - maybe that is why it is "manly" enough for him!
Another one done! Thanks again for the great tutorial. I tapered mine this time and this time I made one for me! Only b/c I just bought my first slr. Yea!
I would love a tutorial for this ruffled one. Mine slides all over the place and it is driving me crazy.
I too, would love a tutorial! Please, please! :)
I love this strap cover! But it looked like a total pain in the neck to feed the strap through those ends. SO I decided just to add a small bit of velcro on both my strap and the inside of the cover. Voila no adjusting the strap 50 times a day! I don't allow my husband to touch my camera so I'm not concerned with the ruffles. :)
:) so many insecure men,my partner wouldn't fetch my umbrella from the car when it was pouring with rain....because the umbrella was pink! Love the strap cover just making one in Cath Kidston fabric for my daughter for Christmas....and one for me just because I love it! Thank you, x
