All Patched Up

I got the idea for this one after making the raw edge circle quilt tutorial.  Its pretty much the same concept plus some pieced squares and some sizing differences.  This one is a throw size…and I’m so so glad I saved that Whimsy fat quarter set this whole time because its perfect in this quilt.

Its quilted by first stippling around all the circles and then going back and free motioning a swirl in each one.   Oh and you might see some Meadowsweet, Hunky Dory green and some Riley Blake fabric in there too. I couldn’t resist…they matched so well and I added that Riley Blake orange fabric in just for fun in true Allison style.  Peace out!

I admire quilters! And I really admire all the thoughtfulness and vision that goes into picking out all the coordinating colors, both the larger and smaller patterns within a quilt, etc. This is beautiful!

That is a nice pattern. What a great evolution of the concept.

Very cute - and I especially like your swirls in the circles instead of just stippling over the whole thing. Fun!

One question . . . when do you find the time to do all this with a 5 month old?

Great quilt!

Why OH WHY couldn't this quilt fabric all come from a single line that I could quickly and easily order?? :) Whenever I find a fabulous quilt and decide that life cannot continue until I get my hands on that fabric, it's always a mixture of different fabrics from different lines. You have a great eye for mixing and since I'm not sure I do, I need all the fabric to come together in a kit or something!

Long story short, I love the fabric combinations in this quilt. Love. Love. Love. It's soft and somewhat muted, but with the pops of red that make it wake up a little. Just what I'm (trying) to do with my decor these days - mostly neutrals and softer colors, but with pops of an accent color (usually red is my favorite).

Even longer story longer, I'd give one of my pinky toes to get my hands on the scraps from this quilt!
