I just realized I’ve been a little MIA on this blog. Its kind of a nice feeling when I have so many other fun things going on I just forget about blogging. Anyways…I hope you all had a great Labor Day. Today we were driving by my favorite quilt shop, so I gave them a call hoping they were open on Labor Day. Unfortunately they were closed…but lucky for me, the sweetest lady just happened to be there and opened up the store for me to shop away all by myself. I was in HEAVEN.![]()
That’s like 1/8th of their fabric…and its so much fun to browse through their finished quilts and patterns. I left with a nice little stack for an upcoming project, plus some extras. :)
Have a great week…I’m going to be unpacking (uggh!) and finishing up a quilt (yay!).

That's awesome! I'm totally jealous! The only place around here that sells modern fabrics has only 10 bolts!
What a great, clean organized shop.

Gorgeous store! I just got some of that gray polka dot fabric too, and now I'm kicking myself for not getting more! It's fabulous!

Nice score on the blue KJR fabric! I would have bought the whole bolt; I love that print.
I wish we had shops like that here in our city... ::sigh::

Got the chance to pop into a quilt shop this weekend. Unfortunately all repros and dark fabrics...sigh. The above pictured quilt shop looks like heaven!!!!!
What a pretty, clean shop!
What an amazing shop! I could spend so much time and money there.
Fantasy shopping... :-)
Love it! A quilt store to shop all by myself!
Wow, does that store look yummy!!! Lucky you.
I LOVE The Gathering Place - I, too, live in SE Idaho and was a classmate of your dad's. He gave me your blog site. Have you been to "Suppose" in Preston, ID? It's fabulous and your style. You've got to go!
Oh my, those fabrics, those colours, you must have felt you were in the land of Plenty :-)
Looks like a terrific store no wonder you was in heaven.
I have been MIA too. It must be the time of year. What a pretty quilt shop. So stylish and modern. I love it. I also loved your mom's pillow in your last post too.
thank you for coming back! I missed your posts! I actually need help deciding what quilt pattern to use with some small navy/gray/pink prints I bought for my daughter's birthday quilt.
i use to work at a quilt shop in pocatello, sages creek quilts, which is a few miles from rupert. next time you are in the area you must go there. i, however, live about 3,000 miles away from there and it is impossible for me to drop in there. it was a truly wonderful experience working there and i miss it every day.
you will enjoy it!
WOW! That is amazing. The photos are wonderful! I am glad you've been too busy to blog, that's not a bad thing! Especially at the end of summer.
oooh wow the quilt shop looks lovely! good thing you got in!
such a pretty shop! I actually showed the picture to my husband :) and yes, who can walk by the polka dots without getting a few extra!
Wow, that is a beautiful shop! Just everything about it is perfect!!
Oh my, Allison! That looks like a dangerous shop for me to go in. Too many temptations all in one place. Yikes! Thanks for sharing that photo.
How fun to shop all by yourself! And they had that blue KJR?! what a find!
what a gorgeous quilt shop! i'm drooling. i can't imagine how hard it must have been to narrow down your choices.
Okay, so I have been reading your blog for a while (LOVE IT!) but never commented. I really need to catch up on my blogs that I read...anyway, I was doing some work at the quilt shoppe I work at when the lady working told me to check your blog....The Gathering Place is totally where I work at and the lady that I was talking to was the one that opened the shoppe for you! Small world!
The picture of all the Amy Butler & Heather Bailey (& more!) is my all time favorite part of the store! When I need a cute skirt material I ALWAYS look there first!
So fun!
The Gathering place actually has a blog: thegatheringplacequilts(dot)blogspot(dot)com
if you are interested!
P.S. Love all your work btw!
jealous! haha :O)

I couldn't find this answer elsewhere (though I'm sure you've answered it), but who makes the bottom fabric in this last photo? The aqua floral-y print is exactly what I've been looking for to make my on-the-way baby's crib quilt.
Could you let me know? onelovelylife (at) gmail (dot) com
Thanks! ~Emily
:) I love the Gathering Place. I just spent a small fortune there this weekend on the new Bliss line. Ahhh heavenly place isn't it!
