unpacking Halloween

The best part of decorating for the holidays is unpacking the decor that has been stuffed away for a year.  I’m embarrassed to say that I completely forgot about this table topper….but it was such a fun surprise to find!IMG_6384

This quilt I didn’t forget about...but it was still plenty exciting to get it out of its tub-o-crap and back to use.

I’m so glad I made these last year even though I was really big, sick and pregnant…in that order.   Too often I think that its a waste to make quilts that are only used for one month out of the year…but really it just makes them that much more special.

Absolutely love these! I agree, I always wonder if it would be worth it to make something I'm only going to use for a short amount of time. But seeing them again the next year always makes it worth it.

Love, love, love the table topper. It's so simple and fun. Every year when I open my "seasonal" boxes I am pleasantly surprised by enjoying old favorites and finding new things I'd forgotten about! That's part of the fun for me!

i LOVE your table topper. I need to get off of this computer right now and start cutting out my squares. I have two days off this week because of the teacher work days - I keep the in-school suspension room so do not have to report on those days - so have the time to hit the old sewing machine. I live your quilt, too, and agree that seasonal items make them that much more special.

I totally agree about how only having something out for a month out of the year will make it more special. Even my husband will exclaim - "Ooooo, it's time for the Halloween quilt again!"

I love getting out my Halloween quilt, it does make it that much more special since I only get to enjoy it part of the year. That table-topper is super cute!

Love this quilt. Seeing it last year inspired me to make a seasonal quilt myself. I did a 4th of July one and just completed my own Halloween quilt. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love the quilt. I really like seasonal quilts - its an excuse to make another! My husband keeps asking me where is that one going so now I can say that one goes on the bed for x month only!

Oh. I love this one. I remember it from last year! It is so fun to use one for a little while, put it away, and then surprise! Open a tub and there it is again next year!

I've been absent from browsing my quilt blogs (and quilts) for quite some time and looking through yours today makes me want to break out my fabric and get busy! Thanks for the beautiful images.
