After:
I finally did a mini bedroom redo. I’ve had that headboard on my husband’s to do list for more than 6 months! I’ll share how he I did it in another post.
Redo cost: $15.00 headboard (door, trim, paint, wood, L brackets)
$2.00 mirror from thrift store (should I repaint that? I kind of like the color.)
$19.00 duvet cover….more on that later.
$4.00 new red slipcover for bed pillow
= $40.00
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

such great value for money!
It looks fabulous I'm just surprised...no quilt on the bed! :-0
Sweet! You are definitely my hero for making such a major impact with such a minor amount of cash.
I think you're right about the color of the mirror; it adds a little punch. Painting it is always an option for when you need a little change in the future.
Very nice! I love the mirror! We have one that is similar... it was a thank you gift for my mother, handwoven by a young lady who was being trained to take over the family business it German. Mom gave it to me a number of years ago and I love it.
How cool. The ornaments are a great idea!
Love it! I love a door converted into a head board. This has also been on my imaginary to do list.
I love everything!
Your mini makeover looks great. I like the colour of the mirror. I'd leave it.
ohhh, its all perfect! i love it! what a great job... :)
it looks great! I'll definitely be looking for a how to on that headboard. We are getting a new bed and I don't want to spend a fortune on a fancy bed/headboard.
i like the mirror, i don't think i'd redo it.
Looks great - I do love a room re-do, especially on a budget like that.
Is your hubby like mine...as soon as I do something, he comes in and says "I was gonna do that."? It looks really festive! I agree with KatieQ...paint the mirror later when you're ready for another little change.
Very nice!
It's gorgeous!!!!! I can't wait to be able to redo my bedroom!
Beautiful. I love all the bright white, and the ornament balls are great. It's motivating me to do something Christmas-y in my bedroom.
Very very neat!!
Looks great! I love that kind of headboard. I agree, leave the mirror that color. I think the mirror would look good hung so that it has more width.
My grandmother had that mirror! I wanted it when she passed away but she lived in Hawaii and it was too much hassle to try to bring things to the mainland. Now I wish I had!
Can't wait to see how you did the door headboard. I really need one and love the idea!
Love the ornaments above too---looks very pretty altogether:)
okay deets on the "how to" for the headboard:) LOVE it. the room looks awesome!
(Okay I am an rss reader that usually doesn't comment but I had to on this one:) awesome work!)
VERY cute! love the whole thing! it's very you. :)
Love it!!! I'm in dire need of a headboard... we've been saying we need one for almost 3 yrs lol I love what you did with the door.
Love the door headboard.... is your bed queen or king? I'd love to do that as well... we have been searching for affordable headboard ideas, we currently have no headboard..... great job!
BTW... today I finished a baby size of your juice boxes pattern using cloud9 "under the sea" fabric... it came out so fab.... I'll email you a pic, you should have a flickr page for those of us who use your patterns.
Darling! IMHO, I would paint the mirror. I think a softer color would fit in better but either way, it's a great addition.
I love headboards made from doors...very cute!
Love this re-do. It's cute and affordable. My 2 favorites. Can't wait to hear about the door project.
Oh I so want to do this! I had many projects on my list for the warm-ish weather. Now its gone! Boo hoo! Oh darn, gotta stay inside and quilt! :D
I'd repaint the mirror, but not white - bright yellow maybe? And hang it horizontally.
Love it!
This is a great makeover! I don't think you need to paint the mirror, I like it as is.
so nice! LOVE that headboard!! pls do post the how to for it!!
I love your bedroom makeover. Are the hanging balls for Christmas?
I like the christmas balls hanging down! Cute!
That's awesome! I've been thinking about the door headboard for a while but haven't had the guts to start it yet....this adds some inspiration! Love it!
Ooo that looks spectacular! I like the mirror color, don't change it!
Love it. Love it!! I like the mirror too... and your christmas balls are so cute! xx
