Doily Pillow

Has a week flown by already?  I have been sick sick sick this week with a cold/sinusitis, its just part of the fun that comes with the end of pregnancy I suppose.   I did bunker down and make this doily pillow, which I don’t like at all now that’s its done.   I like the smaller linen version I made way back when here way better.  Anyways….now its on the re-do list and I’m tempted just to buy this one instead.

Nesting

I’m feeling it…the urge to get stuff done and ready for baby. We decided to have our boys share a room, and even though I still have a few more things to do (like paint Ben’s bed white…and make valances) I’m feeling like its ready for baby.

The quilt hanging over the baby’s crib (can you guess his name?) is this one. The quilt on Ben’s bed I made way back here, and its finally out of its storage box and happily on a bed. The big letters came from Joann’s and were spray painted with more Kilz red spray paint from Walmart. The dot garlands above each bed I made with scrapbook paper, a circle punch, double stick tape & fishing line. Totally cheap & replaceable, perfect for a boys room. :)

Garage sale redo

This was my favorite $3.00 garage sale find of last summer. 

Thanks to spray paint it’s now bright red sitting in my living room.  I love it. 

Keepin’ it real

 

I call this the post-moving-pit.  It will be the guest room/ sewing room, the catch is whoever comes and visits first has to clean it (anybody?).  I have managed to sew up a couple pillow covers in here despite all the mess though.  When there’s a will there’s a way, and pillow covers were a necessity.

Happy Valentines Day to you. Today my little valentine decided to wear big boy underwear…..which means I am following behind him with my Clorox wipes and thanking my lucky stars we have wood floors. :) Time to go snuggle, and hoping you get to do the same!

(Duvet cover is from Ikea, and the bowls from my whiny “no dishwasher” post were from Anthropologie…in case I haven’t got back to you yet!) And sorry if you got this post twice in your reader...I'm not using my brain today.

Up & Running

Or not…running that is.  More like up and waddling.  I finally got my internet up and going after 2 weeks.  2 WEEKS!  It was actually a nice break besides the fact that I have 218 emails in my inbox.  So if one of those is from you…. I’m working on it I promise.  I’m finally feeling like my house is semi-done and feeling like home.   I’ve had lots of time for projects without internet, so get ready for posts about house projects and pretty much nothing else!  

More to come…its good to be back!!!!

So far so good.

Funny story….kind of.  After a month of looking, my husband found us a cute little house to rent until we find something more permanent.  So we got all moved in and realized…..NO DISHWASHER. 

 

Don’t worry I’ve already thrown my whiny no-dishwasher self a pity party and I’m over it, but it still makes me cranky.  Please say at least one of you don’t have a dishwasher either.  Other than that all is good, we got here fine but don’t have internet until the 11th so things will remain slow on the blog.  Thanks for all your sweet comments and potty training advice…I need all I can get.   My house is a bomb and its freakin’ cold so I’m going to Target now. 

P.S.  I’d like to apologize to the forest for the truckload of paper plates I just bought at Costco.
