I need to hurry and think of a project for this fabric before my husband wraps it up and puts it under the Christmas tree.  Because everything we buy after Thanksgiving is a Christmas gift….socks..…toilet paper….mac n’ cheese…..everything.   Ok maybe not the toilet paper.  :)

A knock-off art holder

I saw this cute yardstick artwork holder and decided to make it for my son’s room. Except mine is the knock-off version of hers. Seriously…I used small clothes pins, spray painted them, stuck them on to the yardstick with gorilla glue, staple gunned a small hanging tab on the back of each end, and hung it on the wall. Luckily it works just fine and it only cost me $2.75. Back to the kitchen I go!!!!!!

I finally took a break from quilts and made some fun trinkets (can I call them trinkets or is that a man term?) to add to gifts.  The pouches were made with Anna’s fabulous tutorial.  The jersey posy pin (uhg…bad pic) was a “wing it” project, thankfully it was quick and easy to put together.  Maybe I’ll get a tutorial put up in the future….no promises though.  :)

Happy + Bright=

this quilt.

I love this fabric (which I’m surprised I haven’t seen more of in blogs?) and I love the way this quilt came together.  The fabric is City Weekend by Oliver + S for Moda and the pattern is the Swirly Pop pattern.  This quilt came just in time for a snowy white out kind of day.  Have a good weekend!

Note to self:  basting a quilt takes 2 hours instead of 20 minutes with a crawling baby.

Fall Tumbler Quilt

While I was going through my fabric I decided I have enough odd-sized pieces of fabric to make a fall-ish quilt.  It’s definitely full of a big variety of fabrics, but it makes it fun so I’m going with it.  I decided on a tumbler quilt after I saw Nettie’s.

I used the Accuquilt Go Cutter to cut the tumbler shapes and it went together easy.  There’s no doubt this is one colorful quilt!

fall decorating

I have a hard time decorating for Thanksgiving….its the awkward stage between Halloween and Christmas. I bought some felt sheets at my last trip to the craft store, cut some circles out and sewed them together one after another to make a quick fall-ish garland. Cheap…fast…and really easy. To make it extra fall-ish you could cut out leaf shapes and it would be even cuter. Now when can I decorate for Christmas? I’ll give it one week and then I’m bustin’ out my bins.

*Stiches n’ Giggles just got their new shop up and running today. The best part? She allows 1/4 yard cuts or fat quarter cuts!!! Enter promo code newstore4u to get 10% off.

* The winner of the Mel [V] Designs giveaway is Nicole...yay for you!

Sherbet top

Love this line… this layer cake….love this quilt top.   It almost makes me want to get pregnant again so I could have a girl to give it to, but then I know I’d have another boy because I know I’m going to have 6 boys.  Its true.  Anyways….I love this quilt top.

P.S.  on the link it says that the layer cake isn’t going to be available until April ‘11….but I think they are releasing pre-cuts sooner….I’ll find out.
