** First off the winner of the Queensland flood auction is Sharon….thank you Sharon! I have no way to get a hold of you though…so please email me at cluckclucksew@gmail.com
I finally ordered myself a big huge roll of queen sized (Warm and White) batting. It was sitting by our door in its huge box while my son had a friend over. I overheard his friend ask, “what’s in that big box?” To which Ben replied, “Its quilt stuff. My Mom makes a lot of quilts cause our house is really cold.”
Sounds like a pretty good reason to me!

i dream about having a roll of batting like this for my very own.
me too! what a great idea! i'm going to have to get myself a giant roll too. :)
ROFL !! Aren't kids the greatest!
And I thought that I was stocking up on batting....I think I bought about 10 yards! Very good! although I am not sure that I would have any room to move in my sewing room with this in there LOL
I'm so incredibly jealous!

kids are so funny. I have a beginners question for you, Do you need to use a quilting frame for the full size quilts?
I started buying this brand by the box from Hancock's with my coupons. When I empty the roll, I keep the cardboard roll as a trophy of sorts. One day I might think of a way to use them. I keep the empty spools of thread too -- is this the sign of a horder????? Or someone crafty with a project waiting to be designed?
once i find myself a job again, i am totally buying a roll of batting. it would be great to just have it on hand. hmm but where do you store it? i can see our cats thinking it's a big pillow for them!
I've been looking at rolls of batting. Now that I'm retired I have more time to quilt and less money. So it makes sense to me...buy a roll! I agree with "byeneedleandthread", where would I store it? Thanks for sharing! Toni
haha, what a cute little comment.
That was a great response- out of the mouth of babes!!
LOL!!! How sweet of him. That made my day:)
Oh drool.
What a great idea! How much does something like that run? I wonder where i'd store it...
Love your blog, it's so inpiring!

love it. I'm going to be ordering some this year too
Works for me!!
Love it! I tried to order some, but they won't ship to Canada. Too bad, since it would really come in handy! Your son's comment is just too cute!
I have a roll of this too! I keep an envelope in w/ my batting and every time I use some, I 'buy ' it and stick the $$ in the envelope ~ that way, when the roll is empty, I'll have the money to buy another one :-) I also can sell to friends, so they don't have to pay ridiculous prices either.
HAHAHA!!! that is hilarous...kids do say the funniest things.
I think I may have to order a roll of this. I wonder if my husband would mind if it "slept" between us on the king-size bed!
Ha ha! I love it. :)
Genevieve
you may have to give that roll it's own room! :)
Hummm I would wrap myself in this batting eheheh as my house is also very cold :-)))
Where do you order such a large roll? Please tell!
I love how the Brits call it wadding.
That is hilarious!
It's a good thing you have all that batting to keep your house warm!!!
That should keep you busy for a while, that it a lot of batting.
I would have to add a room onto my house to store it!!! Oh, but what fun it would be!!
Blessings,
KT
Tell Ben "thank you" for making me laugh out loud :)
Thanks for the laugh! I love children's logic ;).
Now that is funny, I love kids take on things.
I love your son!
He' talks like mine ....
Hahahahahahah!! That is the FUNNIEST!! xx go kiss him from me haha xx
I, too, am dying to know where you store it, how much it costs, and how much batting is on the roll? I have toyed with the idea of getting a roll like that but those have been my worries. Well, mainly the storage issue. I wish I had friends that would want to go in with me on one. All my quilting friends are in my computer.
wowza! imagine the lint dust from that baby!
okay, seriously...that boy is hilarious. You must keep a book of his quotes because something tells me he's full of 'em for the next 80 years. :)
Such a cute comment from you little guy. I have the room to store it, and would love to find a source in Canada if anyone knows. Lucky you to not have to keep treking out for more and worrying about buying too small a piece.
