Back

IMG_7632

We are back from the sun and wiped out.   I know I’ve said it before…but I’m still pretty certain that flying alone with kids is one of the least fun things to do EVER.   Especially when my baby is coughing and hacking all over the girl next to me and trying desperately to grab her ipod and my 4 year old tells me he’s going to pee his pants.  So.  Much.  Fun.  :)     All kidding aside though…it was a nice needed sunny break and we’ll talk soon!

So jealous of the sun. Not jealous of the flying alone with kids.

We've got a 6 hour flight ahead of us this week. **shudder** My girls have been so great about flying since they were about 2, but my 14-month old boy is going to be a NIGHTMARE. And the way back is an overnighter. Fun times. But worth it for a warm vacation... Right????

Covering up with one of mommy's quilts is the best thing when you have had a big day.

You're so right! Hope it was all worth it! The crashed out boy on the couch is making me jealous!

Welcome back! I'm sure all the commotion was well worth it.

Can I just tell you I have spent a ridiculous amount of time today reading your blog and going back through everything? You do gorgeous work and you've inspired me greatly! Your fabric choices are awesome, and everything just looks like it was meant to be when you've finished with it.

My daughter's 1st flight was when she was 4 months old. She was nursing at the time and pretty much nursed the whole flight. With about 45 minutes left of the flight she pooped. I thought "Well I guess she'll have to sit in it. Its not like they have changing tables and I certainly can't change her in the isle." I lift her off my breast and realized she had pooped ALL over my lap. I had a skirt on and there was a puddle of poop sitting on my skirt. Poop + turbulence = worst flight ever!

Bless you.
My gosh... reading people's comments has left me in the corner hugging my knees. I'm just going to never leave. Ever.

Yep, BTDT way too many times! Mine are a sincere pleasure to travel with now (they're tweens).

I have 24 hours on a plane (Sydney to London) coming up with both my boys aged 4.5 and 14 months, ON MY OWN! Arrrrgggghhhhh. The 4.5 yr old will be ok, he's done the trip so many times before he's an old hand, but the 14mo is another story! I did the same trip (on my own) with my elder boy when he was around 15mo and I swear I thought the men in white coats would have to meet me at the other end as my sanity was seriously in question. And here I am, doing it again!

I totally agree with you. I live in Ireland but I am french. I would go home quite often since having my son, the travellling is a killer and by the time i arrived i am totally wiped out.
the worst is that for some strange reason takeoffs send his bowels awol (read diarrhia!!!!)not nice at all. Since his last flight he is potty trained so i would hate to think what is going to happen next time!!!

Ah, motherhood. It's a gross job, but somebody has to do it. :-) Glad you made it back safely.

reminds me of my flight to Germany in 2009 with a 18 month old and a 6 month old... my older one ate the little roll which came with our dinner and than without hesitation grabbed the roll from the lady right next to him.. I was so embaressed. But she just laughed and had some fun with him. Luckily the rest of the flight went smooth.. not so much on the flight back.. but oh well...
