Now that afternoon naps are becoming fewer and shorter for Ben, I’ve had to find ways to keep him busy so I can frantically try and get stuff done while destructo-baby is asleep.
Yesterday we cut out a big cardboard B, and he glued all the fabric scraps and buttons to it. He sat by me for almost an hour getting them all on. After it was all dry (which takes awhile when you give a 3 year old a bottle of glue) I trimmed around the edges.
It was a fun project and a good way to use itty bitty scraps I’d normally throw away. I can’t take credit for this idea….I saw it on a blog not long ago but since I saw it in my google reader I can’t for the life of me remember what blog it was. So if you know…will you leave it in the comments?
And look how nice and evenly placed those buttons are…. I think he takes after his symmetrically obsessed momma.
On another note….I’m helping with a HUGE humanitarian project for my church at the end of April to make over 100 Twin sized quilts to send to those in need around the world…mainly to Japan. There is a huge need for quilts and if you have any large pieces of fabric you’d be willing to donate will you email me? I’d be looking for pieces larger than 1/2 yard up to as big as you got…it doesn’t matter what it looks like as long as its quality cotton or flannel. You would be responsible for shipping costs to get the fabric to me…but it will be put to great use…promise. Thank you! My email is below..you can email me and I’ll give you my shipping info.
