Monday

My to do list is jam packed today.  I’m sure I’ll do none of it but I’m hoping I’ll have time for cutting out this quilt:

I’m making another Skipping Squares quilt….because to be honest I wasn’t really that fond of the first one.  After I finished it I felt kind of "bleh" about it.  But I feel that was 90% of the time I make a quilt from just one line of fabric.  I’m using mostly fabrics from Denyse Schmidt’s new line at Joann’s mixed with a few other basics.  I really love these range of colors in the line.

I’m also hoping to baste this bad boy today...but I’m pretty sure I won’t.   This one is for the Robert Kaufman booth at market from these fabrics.   And since I have to do this quilt…it means it will sit there untouched until the night before.

Today is also "clean the accumulated crap out of my house" day.  This day comes about once every 3 or 4 months….once the clutter starts piling up and the closets start filling up and I feel like my head is going to explode.  The thrift store loves me on this day.

Here’s hoping for a productive day!  But not likely.

I cleaning the clutter up too today. Here's hoping I can get 'er done. My hubby's home for three weeks recouperating from knee surgery (it actually happens of Thurs) and he can't handle clutter. So I've got to get it all gone/hidden before he's in pain and grouchy. :)

Good luck.

Do I ever know what you mean!! Today is gray and raining and I just don't want to work. So far the coupons are scattered all over the dining room table and I've started on this weeks coupon/sales fliers plus sorting miscellaneous papers. Looks like the recycling bin is going to be chock full today. Now to see about doing something productive before hubby gets home and wonders what I did all day. Oh yeah the laundry will be done and the bedding changed so I am sure that will count for something.... ha ha!

Hope you have a great day!

Kudos to you for getting rid of clutter-- with kids and all their stuff, it seems to be a neve-ending job (at least in my house)! I always seem to find that when I have the intention of doing a big purge, it doesn't happen, but that when I'm not planning or expecting it, I get a ton done!! I hope your day was productive!! Hope you found some time for quilting, too!

Okay but don't donate anything super cool that my kiddo will end up liking and making me buy from the thrift store for double what it retails for!!! Or better yet, how about I just come shopping at your place! P.s. The skipping squares quilt is my favorite! :)

Oh how I wish I could have sew today!! I have the itch to sew something, but I have to work on some costume accessories before I can do anything I really want to. Those fabrics are so darling though! I sew more apparel type stuff, but I tried to make a quilt for my daughter's baby doll once. All I managed to do was make the top and edging. (I think that's what its called.) I got stuck when it came time to put it all together! I cant wait to see yours when it's done!

Not the 'Busy Ball Popper'!!! Once you let that toy go, it's all 'big boy' toys from now on! Love what you're working on :)

Try moving to a different city 3 hrs. away. That will get rid of clutter! I love this fabric but I don't know what to mix with it. I just feel frustrated. I'm looking forward to seeing your quilt and the mixes. Please keep us posted! Take care.

That RK quilt is fabulous! There are days when I simply MUST keep the clutter in my sewing room and keep the rest of the house organized, otherwise my brain totally does NOT function and then nothing gets done!

I just read this post aloud to my husband to prove that I'm not the only one who puts the "have to" projects off til the very last minute. He doesn't get it. :)

I need to start my first quilt I am so close thanks for the inspiration. I love dnyse Schmidt fabrics. Her fabric line "hope valley" was named after my home town in ri. I think my first quilt will have to incorporate some of that in it.

I've got that same ball blower thing too hiding in my son's closet. Isn't it the most annoying thing ever?? Best of luck at de-cluttering. When you're done, you wanna come to sunny Tx and work on my closets? I'll keep the kids busy playing playdough! :-) Jenn
