Does anyone else put 4 tablespoons of brown sugar in their cream of wheat? Its awful…and awfully good. But I’m pretty sure it cancels out any healthy-ness.
I’ve been eyeing this line for months. I’m not usually a pinky flowery girl but this line is a nice in between. Those grey-ish tan and sea foam colors sucked me right in. This quilt will hopefully be a quick sew since I have about 2000 other things I should be doing.
Strawberry fields doesn’t come out until May…but pre-cuts are starting to pop up online (try here..or here).

I love the colors too! Can't wait to get mine :)
Yes, I put obscene amounts of sugar in my cream of wheat AND oatmeal. I think the healthiness of the hot cereal cancels out the bad in all that sugar. It's a wash. ;) At least that's how I justify it.
You know what I put in my cream of wheat? Chocolate chips! Can't wait to see what you make with those fabrics.
I have to agree....about the fabric anyway. It's not usually my thing, but this one is calling to be because of the same fabrics you mentioned :) No sugar in my cream of wheat, but a dab of butter and some maple syrup does the trick!
I absolutely love that top blue green one! I just got a vintage tablecloth from my mom with cherries on it and these feel just like it!
I don't put quite that much on my cereal, but enough that I'm sure it would make some crazy!
I love that line, it is gorgeous!
I think of it as having cream of wheat with my brown sugar! Yum, yum! And those fabrics are yummy too... makes me anxious for summer and fresh berries!
I have been watching that fabric line too! I usually run far away from anything pink and/or girly pastel floral but the gorgeous colors in this line have overrun all my usual fabric hangups!
I have to restrain myself :-) I've almost make an order :-)
these colors are soooooo loveley.
I look forward the finished quilt!

Maybe in next month's fabric budget *giggle* Really pretty and I am not a pink girl either ;o)
Yes, guilty of having a heavy hand with the brown sugar. And I have a few charm packs of strawberry fields that I am playing with. They are just lovely!!
Not in my cream of wheat, no. But totally in my oatmeal. Oatmeal is a brown sugar delivery system. :)
Also, I can't *wait* to see what you do with this! I'm in the BOM club at Fat Quarter Shop that features this line so I've held off buying anything from it but my fingers are getting itchy!
Pretty... the yellow keeps is nice and mellow!
Oooooh--I love that! I had been drawn to the line but bummed that the colors seemed so drab--Moda does something to their previews that always makes the colors look so awful--but seeing a real picture of the colors? SO PRETTY! I can't wait to see what you make!
I've got my eye on this line too, those strawberries are too cute to resist. As for brown sugar, I love it in my oatmeal :)
HA! I put tons of honey and sugar in my cream of wheat- delicious!!!
Those fabrics are just precious!
I have that line on my wish list. :o)
Your cream of wheat sounds yummy!
Have a nice day.
Sincerely, Trish
Four tablespoons of brown sugar per bowl sounds just about right! :-)
I love the Strawberry Fabric line too. I've got a charm pack on order and hope to make a quick table runner for spring/summer.
Brown sugar and strawberries are wonderful for everything!! I just saw that my LQS here in Kansas City is carrying some of your patterns and has even kitted one...congratulations!!
I do it also! Several tablespoons of brown sugar... yummy! As long as it is brown sugar I believe it is still OK, isn't it? ;-)
What a pretty fabric line. Can't wait to see what fabulousness you come up with! Jenn
Yes, Cream of Wheat and brown sugar. I'm SURE it is considered health food.
lovely fabric beautiful colours
You have to interrupt your "have to's" with these "impromptu", its a rule!!
I put 4 tablespoons of brown sugar on my shreddies and blueberries every morning, can' start my day without it. Love Strawberry Fields
My daughter won't eat cream of wheat without brown sugar.
There's people that eat cream of wheat without brown sugar? It's like french fries without ketchup (I swear I eat healthy food too).
Had some this morning... I thought I was the only one that did that... I also had a strawberry or two afterwards - yum!!
lovely fabric. I will have to put it on my wish list for my birthday. and I too put 4-5 tbsp of sugar on my hot cereals too. Its the BEST.
I just bought a charm pack's worth for a baby quilt. LOVE.
beautiful, so shabby chic.
no brown sugar for me..love oatmeal with a little butter only..guess what i am having for breakfast tomarrow...lol..happy sewing
I am sure I eat at least 4 tablespoons of brown sugar on my cream of wheat if not more...the sweeter the better :) Love the fabric...can't wait to see what you make with it.
Oh I am SO jealous! Moda and I aren't speaking at the moment, which is especially sad as I had decided I was buying some layer cakes of this line from my store..
I sprinkle brown sugar on my oatmeal or cr. of wheat or any hot cereal. I have a fat quarter bundle of this fabric. I love the greens; so soft. Sure hope Bella or Kona has a green to match. Look forward to your quilt.
I confess that I put about the same amount of brown sugar on my steel cut oats. Sometimes real maple sugar instead. I rarely use any sugar on anything else.
The fabrics look yummy. No sugar needed there!! Can't wait to see what you make with them.
Am going to have to try that brown sugar thing...I like a sweeter cream of wheat and oatmeal also! I have Strawberry Fields and Flurry by Kate Spain in capital letters in my notebook!!
I mix in a 1/2 packet of Alpine sugar free spiced apple cider and 1/4 c. dehydrated apples. Helps me get past the need for lots of sugar - which is how I prefer to eat it- :)
The fabrics are divine. I might just need to add them to my stash!
I need to come and have breakfast at your house, it looks a lot better than my cold cereal! I'm wondering if you can send me your pattern for the zig zag quilt. I love it and we FINALLY hired a real receptionist and I am FINALLY getting my life back. So I have time to sew, read, watch TV, the important things. I'll come around to making dinner soon. Hope everything is well, we'd love to see you guys sometime soon. Take care, Mindy
Definitely in my oatmeal....the oatmeal is just a way to convey the brown sugar goodness (or is that badness?) to my waiting mouth. Nom, nom! I came here from Material Girls....love those fabrics!

So excited to follower your blog now!
My grandma always put half and half in our Cream of Wheat or Maltomeal. It tasted so good! I don't ever have cream on hand, but I dream about its creamy goodness.
Are those two Fenton hobnail pieces in the background? I collect Fenton & have just started following your (awesome) blog!
