Today I’m part of the Sullivans Edge Ruler Blog Hop. The rulers have a nifty cutting edge that sharpen the rotary blade each time you cut…which I need…because rotary blades are expensive and I’ve been known to keep mine a long time. I have the 6.5" x 24" ruler and the 6.5" square ruler… I mainly use that big one up there.
As part of this blog hop I’m supposed to share a recipe with you…and since I made cookies yesterday for my UPS man so he likes me again…I’m sharing my plain old but love Snickerdoodle recipe:
We make this recipe weekly. My kids roll the balls in the cinnamon/sugar…which means there is cinnamon/sugar all over my floor…always. Which is why the bottoms of my slippers are sticky…always.
For more ruler info, giveaways, and better recipe’s than mine…visit the rest of the blog hoppers this week:

I am intrigued by these rulers. Thanks for a chance to win some and for a delicious sounding recipe!
I love your blog. A ruler that sharpens my blades would be awesome!
chelle.ix(at)gmail(dot)com
Thanks for the chance to win and the cookie recipe!
Oh snickerdoodles, I haven't made those in a LONNNNGGGGGG time! Thanks for a memory flashback!
As for mats and blades, I have one of those tabletop white cutting mats.......don't care for it much, seems to push the fabric into the mat instead of cutting it. I always use my smaller dark colored mat, it will cut the fabric no matter how dull the blade is.
MMm. I love snickerdoodles. Thanks for your recipe!
Amazing. I've never heard of these before. They came up with a wonderful product.

Um, I was just thinking that I needed to go to the store to get a new ruler. Problem being, when to go, do I want to drive 20 min each way, do I have a coupon or are they already on sale, do I really have the energy to start another quilt top... winning that one would be pretty dang convenient!!! Thanks!
My husband is a UPS man and he would LOVE to come to your house! So very nice of you! I love snickerdoodles too, so simple yet so delicious! Thanks for the giveaway!
Mmmmm. Snickerdoodles are my favorite! I'm jealous of your UPS Man! I've heard of that ruler and would love a chance to win it and find out if it really works... does it really work? :-)

I know I leave my blades in way longer than I should and then always think wow, it really was time! My three year old has recently enjoyed "helping" me in the kitchen. He enjoys it so much though I guess it's worth the mess.

Oh snickerdoodles...how I love them! And I love these rulers. I purchased one during a shop hop last year and have not been disappointed.
I would love a new ruler with teeth, because my blades are always dull.
These rulers look really interesting - I just bought new blades for my olfa cutter and that's a chunk o'change! Thanks for the chance to win one of these.
Multi-tasking at its finest :-)
I love snickerdoodles and in the house I am always in my slippers too-go through about 2 pairs a year-and these are heavy duty suckers too.
Love the idea of these rulers!
Great idea! Love to win one.....
I wish these were more widely available.
Cool! My kids love Snickerdoodles and I love the idea of a blade sharpening ruler. Actually, I also love Snickerdoodles. I know that I don't change blades often enough so these rulers bear further investigation. Thanks!
Looks like these rulers are popular! Thanks for a chance to win
The cookie recipe sounds so good. I know I am going to have to go on a mission to find these rulers. I hope I don't have to wait until the Houston quilt show in Nov.
I need a good snickerdoodle recipe! Thanks! And also thanks for a chance to get a good ruler. Most of mine are currently being held together by tape :)

looks like an interesting concept...sharpening while cutting. would love to see how it works in a real-world scenario.
What a nifty ruler!
Don't I wish i was the UPS, or USPS, or Fedex man in your neighborhood. Don't feel bad about the sticky mess, my 4 year old and 18 month old helped me make Banana pudding this past Sunday. The whole counter and our shirts were slimy! But hey it was yummy and fun! Thanks for a chance to win!
The idea that my ruler could sharpen my rotary cutter blade is awesome - can't wait to try this!
Love the rulers and the recipe. Thanks!
What a great idea for a ruler! Those cookies look wonderful! I'll be sure to show the recipe to my 11 year old... he is the baker in the family now. What about me? I like to QUILT!

I had no idea I could get a ruler that would sharpen my rotary blades. I use my blades far, far too long - about when they stop cutting through single-thickness quilting cotton. Ooops.
Yum! Snickerdoodles are my all time favorite cookie! Good choice! This ruler looks really nice. If I don't win one (I can dream), I will definitely be picking one of these up at Joann's!
Yummy! I've been wanting to make some snickerdoodles but haven't made time to find a recipe, now I don't have to!! Thanks for sharing! And I was just thinking that I need a new blade. SO great timing!

I have never heard of snickerdoodles, but they certainly look very yummy :)
Please put me in the draw for the special sharpening rotary cutter ruler - what a great idea.

I would love to win one of these! Thanks.
Well how handy is that? I've never heard of these rulers. Very cool!
I've heard of this ruler through Pat's blog. I did not know that it sharpens your rotary cutter as you go. Thanks for the recipe!
I can't make my mind up whether I am more interested in the cookies or the ruler!
Confessions of a ruler junkie ... I think I need one! LOL. Can we justify this by saying that it's not JUST a ruler? Pulling double duty is a great idea! Thanks for the wonderful give-away!
So adorable that you kept it real...sticky floors and slippers. I purchased a 12 1/2 ruler and love it. I'd love the chance to win a different one!
Thanks for the chance to win a cool ruler! I need a new tool.
If these rulers are as good as warm Snickerdoodles . . . well what could be better!
I love snickerdoodles. We used to make them all the time when my kids were small.

I love killing two birds with one stone. that is an great idea.
I would really love to win one of these rulers:)
How did I miss this new invention? The funny this is you don't know how much you needed a new blade until you put a new blade in! I love the feel of slicing fabric like it's butter. Thanks for the chance.

heidi
yummy cookies! That ruler sounds great....I'm the same way about my rotary blades.

Cookies are awesome but a rotary cutter that sharpens itself? AMAZING! I know what's on my Christmas list. :)
Snickerdoodles are one of my family's favorites! That's one lucky UPS guy!
Those cookies look awesome! I want to go make some now!
Thanks for sharing about the rulers!
Ooh those are one of my favorite cookies. I think your family might like them a bit more though if you make them weekly. LOL
I still want one of these rulers since Pat showed them off awhile back. Maybe I'll get lucky this time and win one. I just had to buy a new ruler for my beginning quilt piecing class but the teacher required a certain brand so I couldn't get one of these sadly.
Thanks for the recipe. I'm going to see if it's the same one and if not I will try this one next time.
Love these blog hop thingy's! And really think the ruler would be a great addition to my sewing supplies. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

I would love some cookies and a ruler please! Really interested to see how these rulers work.
Would love to win a ruler that would save my rotary blades from wearing out so quickly! Thanks for sharing a great recipe - will save for when I'm not dieting....LOL
Sweet! Thanks for the chance to win! I definitely need one of those rulers, since I tend to (like you) use my rotary cutter blades far longer than I should! :)
The cookies look delicious, but I am working hard to lose a few pounds! Thanks for your blog.
Love the idea that a blade can be sharpened while using. Now will they find a way to have somethng cook while you sew!

mmmmm... snickerdoodles! A way to save money and buy more fabric too - what a great post! :)
Snickerdoodles are my favorite cookie. Would love a chance to try out one of these rulers.
I wish someone in this house would make cookies weekly. With both kids off to college it just isn't wise for dh and I to be eating that many cookies. ;S
Love those snickerdoodles...yum! I would definitely like to win one of those rulers.
Snickdoodles are my favorite cookie! LOVE them. Would love to rty one of these rulers.
Rulers look really neat. And, the cookies!!!! I'm going to make those tonight to have with my tea from psiquilt. That makes a really good day!

That recipe looks delicious! I would love to win one of these rules
These fascinate me. Have never purchased one nor even talked to a quilter who has one. Sounds like a perfect use for a joann's coupon if I'm not the lucky one this time. Thanks! Jan

Wow! They sharpen our rotary blades?!? Sounds good!
c.goernandt c.goernandt@googlemail.com
"I'm getting started quilting, and stalk your blog for inspiration. I'm saving my pennies for all of this quilting equipment (been doing it with scissors only), and would LOVE to win this awesome ruler! I learn so much here! So glad I didn't buy a different one - will probably be buying this one if I don't win it!"
Those cookies look yummy, might try them with the kids and I'll end up with sticky slippers as well! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the opportunity to win a magical ruler
A- how cool are these! I love my rotary cutter soo much but when it gets dull it's like the death of me. B - I started trying to eat healthy and this post did NOT help. Snickerdoodles are my FAVORITE!!
Ashleyw0201@gmail.com
My quilting friend loves Snickerdoodles so I'll have to try these for our next sewing day. I'm fascinated by these new rulers. What a cost saver.
I have so many dull blades. I have a hard time throwing them away because they are sooooo expensive!
There is nothing better than a brand new blade in my rotary cutter. And I always think to myself, why didn't I replace the blade sooner. WHY? Because blades are expensive! Hopefully this ruler will make a dollars go a bit further.
Thanks for the chance to win.
How awesome that ruler would be!
Your kids must know my kids! I always have cinnamon sugar on my floor, but from cinnamon toast. As soon as there is a hint of cold in the air they have to make cinnamon toast and hot chocolate...at least the ants know which house to get a good feed at!
I've loved Snickerdoodles since I was a kid - great choice!! This ruler looks very interesting!
I love that it also sharpens the blade, genius! Thanks for a chance to win such a useful tool.
rhianneholmes(at)hotmail(dot)com
i didn't know they had such a ruler - how neat. your recipe has solidified my desire to bake brownies when i get home! :)
The ruler sounds incredible! I'll hve to win one!!!
And your cookies sound yummy, too.
This is a great example of one of the things I love about ready blogs... I didn't know such a ruler existed... thank you for the information... and the recipe, which I can taste!
These are awesome. I was already dulling out my first blade and pondering getting a new one after only a few months work. I'd love one of these.
Lisa
I tend to forget to change the blade on my rotary cutter until it is usually so dull I can't cut with it anymore... this is a great idea!
Yeah, why are the blades so expensive? Every time I change it I think "why did I wait so long to do this!?" and the more I use it and the more dull it becomes the more I think "I should really change it" and when I go to buy a new blade I tsk in disgust and keep using my dull blade until it won't cut the fabric anymore. I'd love a ruler like this!
Would love a new self sharpening ruler - I've never seen one before. Great giveaway!
MMMM Snickerdoodles. IS there anything better?
Thanks for the recipe...love Snickerdoodles! I have wanted to try these rulers...I too use my rotary blades way too long. Thanks!
Thank You for the chance to win!
Okay, those cookies just look........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Oh goodness, those look delicious! Now, if only I had time to back some (or my dishwasher worked, which would give me time!). Mmm!
Snickerdoodles are a long time family fav here too.
I would really enjoy having a ruler that will keep my rotary cutter sharp as I, too, keep them way too long due to the expense.
I love snickerdoodles--I will have to compare our recipes.
I have never heard of these rulers-great idea.
