I think I’m the last person to have fabric pumpkins amongst the fall decorations…so it was time. I really like the look of the full pieced pumpkins using this pattern.
Although I made the big mistake of using this upholstery fabric I found on clearance at Joann’s….bad idea. I broke 2 needles making just this one pumpkin (which needs more stuffing). Next time I’ll just use some cute cotton. Now back to sewing a Darth Vader cape…

They are adorable! I have done the same thing using the heavy fabric!! Grrrr!
The pumpkins are cute... but the Darth Vader cape would be much more appreciated at my house! LOL! I made my boys Jedi capes a couple of weeks ago and they said I was the best mom ever!
Cutie Patooties! Thanks for the tip about not using heavy fabric--you have saved my needles. And thanks for pointing me toward that pattern.
its lovely... i know what you mean by the needles i broke 4 in one night, not good hey x
No, you're not the last one.. I still haven't jumped on this bandwagon yet. I hope to do one soon though!
It cannot be a mistake... it looks gorgeous! You may be one of the last, but you are a standout!
This is amazing, however I would argue that I like it without extra stuffing, its like each of our special with our individual lumps and bumps
Adorable
Very very cute! :)
Those are sooo cute! I might be the last person now not having any pumpkins!
Next time try using a heavier needle, such as a jeans needle. There may even be needles labeled for upholstry fabric. I like the fabric you used, don't be afraid of trying it again. light wt. fabric=small needle, heavy fabric=heavy needle, easypeasy.
cute pumpkin! and may the force be with you! :-)
That's the prettiest fabric pumpkin I have seen...well done!
I do like your little pumpkin just the way it is. And I'm sure your little guy will look great in his Darth Vader cape!
Those are very cute! I have similar ones that I made a few years ago. They are all over the house.
very cute. I have never made fabric pumpkins before either..now i will
Very cute!
those pumpkins are adorable :)
OOh, I want to make some of those. What about velveteen, I wonder?
Don't change a thing, the upholstery fabric works! It's more robust and less cutesy than dress/quilting cotton would have been. I like it a lot.
You're right, it could use a stuffing top-up, but that's easily done.
Love your blog, by the way.

I don't know for you if it was worth all the trouble, but your pumpkin turned out very nice. I like the fabric you chose, especially for fall.
But the color of that fabric is wonderful.
I love the pumpkin. My 3 1/2-year-old grandson is being Darth Vader too. He is completely and utterly obsessed with all things Star Wars!
Thanks for this post, purchased the pattern and some fabric, now all I have to do is make some of my own!
I'm so glad you enjoyed my pattern :) Your pumpkin is absolutely gorgeous, even though it tried to eat your sewing machine! Happy Halloween!
fabulous!
I love the pumpkins! I've added the pattern to my favorites in Etsy so I can order it on payday. Thanks for sharing. :)
Your pumpkin is still cute...fully stuffed or not! Thanks for the inspiration. I think I will go sew me some pumpkins now :)
The pumpkins are adorable.
