I just read through this post and right away this quilt caught my eye. I love it! I love the looks of all those vintage sheets. Perfect for a picnic. And the backing could not be better for laying around on the grass. I was giggling at the wavy quilting and your husbands comments. Too funny.

Maybe I'm too young to know, but it seems that most cheap hotel sheets are just plain white. I would feel confident in knowing your vintage sheets are by now totally clean anyway. :)

I am discovering more and more how I like the feeling of vintage sheets on the back of my quilts. I have a work in progress backed with a vintage sheet that feels so soooffftt!

I recently got a package of blocks cut from sheets from Whimsie Dots (on Etsy) and I will be making something nice from them soon.

The green flowered print and the lavendar and blue flowered print look strangely familiar to me! I think my sister and I had those same sheets while growing up. We're in our mid-to-late forties, so I guess our things are now "vintage!" Ha ha!

I buy lots of stuff at thrift stores, and when it comes in the house I put it straight into the washer. I usually wash it twice. You never know where stuff has been! I've never had anything that didn't come clean and smell sweet after washing, but if I ever did, I wouldn't hesitate to pitch it. Yuk.

Wow - you make me feel so old. I received the white sheets with little pink and blue flowers for our wedding - Yes - it was 30 years ago - does that made it vintage? The pattern was called Christine from JC Penneys. Funny how you remember certain things isn't it.

I get all weird when i find one at an estate sale or thrift store....you know, a little tingly inside ;) I have a few of the sheets you used in ur posting. Come to my blog and see my pinwheel quilt in which i used a vintage sheet and a bed skirt. Ur husband is right...ur awesome!
